Apart from clubs, another constructive occupation for the students at DVM Dalmiapuram is the House system. To inculcate a healthy sense of competition, the students have been allocated one of the four houses which symbolizes the school’s values. Students develop a sense of belonging and a feeling of unity in being a part of a specific house.

The four houses are named

Blue House

Green House

Red House

Yellow House

All the Houses shall perform the following duties by rotation :


  • To conduct the Morning Assembly
  • To collect and prepare news of International, National, School and Sports events and also write a thought for the day on the whiteboard meant for the purpose.
  • To deliver the “Thought” in the form of a short speech in the Morning Assembly.
  • To check the late comers and mark in their diaries.
  • To help in maintaining order and discipline during the arrival, recess period and dispersal.
  • To participate enthusiastically in all Intra-House and Inter-House contests.

  • Each house is led by the House In-charge for a year. The House Captains guide their teams on all fronts and play a vital role in leading their team to victory in all events. Various house competitions not only help the students acquire the spirit of team spirit and selfless service. Be it a debate, quiz or sports event, students give their best to win laurels and house points. Participation in various activities brings the house honour and gives the students a sense of pride. Throughout the year all houses participate in various Inter House events and at the end of the year, the final scores are prepared to adjudge the best house.

    The House system inculcates in the students the values of team spirit, commitment, loyalty, sharing and healthy competition. Students are urged to compete with themselves, raising their own excellence bar. Points are awarded to students throughout the year for Co-Curricular Activities, Sports Tournaments & Discipline through Inter House Competitions in Sports, Debates, Quiz, Arts & Music and Prizes/ Trophies are awarded accordingly. At the end of the academic session, the house gaining the highest points is awarded the running trophy. The aim of the House system is to inculcate and develop the qualities of leadership, public speaking & organizational skills among the students through various inter house competitions and school functions.

    Community Service

    Today the world needs leaders who can contribute back to the society in a way which brings smile to everyone’s face. That can only be possible if a child understands the importance of community service. Mere having a way to earn is NOT considered to be SUCCESS anymore. Real success comes, when people come together and work together for everyone’s welfare.

    At DVM Dalmiapuram we provide students an opportunity to apply academic learning to real-life events through community service projects. It helps in building relationships and social connectedness and also exposes our students to diversity and multiculturalism. It Improves lifelong communication, interpersonal, and critical thinking skills.



    At DVM, students start volunteering at an early age as it has been researched and proved that students benefit greatly—both academically and emotionally—from volunteering their time to make the community and world a better place.

    While completing community service projects, students develop real-world skills that will help them succeed in middle school, high school and beyond.

Hence, the main purpose of education here is the holistic development of the children so that they are ready to face the world when they grow up. As important as it is to learn Math and English, it is equally necessary that students in school get a chance to participate in the co-curricular activities as well and therefore they are given an exposure with planned field trips . Giving equal weightage to both indoor as well as outdoor activities is what will make children well prepared for what lies outside in the real world. We as a progressive school strongly feel that tours and trips contribute to a well-rounded education.
